Working with Aaron
I offer in-person sessions in my office in Calabasas, CA and offer coaching appointments via Skype or Zoom. Seeing a dietitian or a nutritionist can be a difficult step. This profession has a history of being judgmental, biased and shaming. I bring none of those things to my work. Key words that are always present in my office are compassion, curiosity and empathy. I don’t want to tell you what to do, I want to partner in your journey toward sustainable changes. Consider me almost like you would a coach. I'm there to listen, learn and understand your lived experiences and by doing so, help reclaim your Body Trust®
Intuitive Eating is a non-diet approach to helping you make peace with food. In our sessions, we'll work on learning to tune in to hunger and fullness cues. We will also explore how your "food rules" or diet mentality have affected your past eating experience. The goal of Intuitive Eating is to help you become comfortable around food agian, to feel safe in your food choices and to stop fighting with your body and instead find pleasure in food.
In addition to offering individual sessions, I am also available to offer group presentations on a variety of topics. Whether it is to a group of employees, faith-based organiztion members, students or friends, I promise you will leave feeling motivated and inspired to begin focusing on ways to change your health. Some speaking topics include: Intuitive Eating, Binge Eating Disorder, Health at Every Size, Fad Diets, Holy Eating (Jewish), Nutrition 101, Feeding Children.
I provide counseling and assistance in the treatment of all eating disorders. I have worked in a variety of treatment settings and bring that knowledge to my private practice. I work with clients struggling with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and ARFID.
Body Trust® is all of our birthrights. It is learning to come home to our bodies and end the cycle of shame and hatred that we've lived with for far too long. Body Trust® work incorporates Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size® principles but it also adds another layer. One that looks at how our society perpetuates negative body image and how we can learn to trust the one thing that has been there our entire lives to support us...our body!
